WATERCOLOUR AND A PARAFFIN CANDLE

This is the special technique. General idea is described in the painting technique literature. It is sufficiently simple but you have to practise.

Main idea is that the sheet of paper is rubbed by something water-repelling (wax, paraffin). I used a piece of a paraffin candle. Then the coating of watercolour paint is applied.

This coats alternation you can repeat several times. The topmost of the technique is the possibility to apply much more the paint layers, than with the only watercolor and so, you can work with the form of object more precisely.

As a case in point you can see "Ice figures".

Also and "Prankish kitten" was made in the same technique.
